Baulückenkonzerte #8, #9 und #10, Die Strottern, Austrofred, Musikarbeiterinnenkapelle

Die Strottern, together with the Jazzwerkstatt Wien, performed at a empty site close to the Therme Oberlaa. Midst a meadow with high grass and prickly thristles they made this Sunday evening an unforgettable concert experience, with the charme and wit of the Wienerlied. The Jazzwerkstatt amazingly accentuated the gig musically and the timing couldn't have been better, since it ended beautifully as the sun set at the same time.

In the manner of a big rockstar like Freddy Mercury, Austrofred rocked the 11th district in the shadow of the A23 on the following evening. With a Best of his greatest hits the champion delighted his many fans and also admitted, that he prefers playing in Meidling to performing in Döbling. With a rapid ride on a Vespa, the second evening, on which the guests had the opportunity to purchase reading and towels for the next vacation to the beach, came to an end.

The "most sympathetic and weirdest bunch of brass instruments of the city" were unlucky concerning the weather, but the mood was still great. Following the motto "Brass music instead of marches, progressive freshness rather than conservative boredom, tradition replaced by innovation" they fascinated the audience at the Ferdinand-Kral-Saal. After the cancellation of the Toten Hosen for the upcoming Nova Rock festival, my highlights of the evening were their interpretation of "Bonny und Clyde", as well as "Killing in the Name of" by Rage Against The Machine. I highly recommend the attendance at one of the fantastic concerts of the Musikarbeiterinnenkapelle to everybody.
